Interpreting jaw plate specs

The jaw plate set is available in two grades: Mn13 for general abrasive applications and Mn18 for the harshest conditions. The typical mass per plate, 180 to 420 kg, matters for safe handling and is a quick check for matching liners to your machine size. Seat refers to the profile that mates to your jaw body and cheek plate, and this must match the correct OEM profile to avoid seat fretting or poor nip angle. Hardness is not uniform, as these liners work-harden on feed: the more material passes, the tougher the crushing face becomes. Each set is cast to stock or window, so you can choose depending on your campaign schedule.

  • Mn13: general abrasive use
  • Mn18: high-impact, high-abrasion
  • Hardness increases with use

Measuring and confirming your jaw plate profile

To avoid fitment issues, always measure the worn part’s thickness, length and bolt pattern as well as the cheek and seat faces before ordering. Photos showing the profile, mounting points and any wear pattern help us advise on the right liner. It is also essential to confirm your crusher’s model, serial plate and any OEM profile number stamped on the old plate. If possible, provide dimensions over the full length, including at the ends where taper can show. This ensures the new jaw plate beds in with correct nip angle and full seating.

What to send when ordering

When you contact Crusher Consumables through our contact form, please send high-res photos of the worn liners in position, including the seat and cheek mating faces and any stamped numbers. Note the crusher make, model and serial number, as well as the feed type if you know it. If you have previous change-out records, send those too. This allows us to confirm the OEM profile, advise on the correct manganese grade and avoid downtime for your next change.
