Interpreting toggle plate specs
Toggle plates are categorised by type, fuse rating, and material. 'Type' distinguishes the toggle from its seat and shims. The 'fuse rating' refers to the maximum force the toggle is engineered to withstand before it fails, ensuring that energy from tramp metal is absorbed by the plate, not the crusher body. Material options include standard cast iron for most applications and composite for shock resistance in high-impact or variable feeds.
For each OEM profile, we match the plate thickness and web geometry to ensure the mechanical fuse operates at the right pressure. Spec tables include this data, and our team works with your maintenance planner to clarify any edge cases.
How to measure your toggle plate
Before ordering, measure the existing toggle plate’s length, width, and thickness with a tape measure. Check the seat contact faces for step wear. Take note of any shims or spacers. Photograph the toggle in position and out, if possible. The serial plate on the crusher frame will help match the OEM profile. If the toggle is worn through or cracked, include photos of the failure area.
Send us your crusher model number, serial plate information, and all photos and measurements. This allows us to match your toggle and confirm fuse rating, especially for older or imported machines. All correspondence for orders should be sent through our contact form.
