Campaign Planner

Gyratory and cone campaign planner sheet.

Purpose of the gyratory and cone planner sheet

Our campaign planner sheet is designed for use by site managers, maintenance planners and plant supervisors involved with gyratory and cone crushers. It helps to organise and record all relevant data for a liner campaign, tracking wear life, change-outs and machine settings. The sheet ensures your team has a clear record from day one of a liner install through to removal, simplifying planning for spares and maintenance shutdowns.

The sheet is typically filled out by the person responsible for crusher maintenance or the plant engineer on site. It is especially helpful when multiple teams or shifts are involved, providing a single, up-to-date reference.

Fields and how to fill them

Each field on the sheet is important for a full campaign record. Fill them in as follows for best results.

  • Crusher make, model and serial: Record your crusher details for reference.
  • Liner set part numbers and material spec: Note OEM profile or aftermarket spec, plus material type (Mn, martensitic, chrome, ceramic insert etc).
  • Install date and hours: Enter the calendar date and start hour meter reading when liners are fitted.
  • Closed side setting (CSS): Record initial setting and changes at regular intervals.
  • Nip angle and chamber profile: If these are adjusted, make a note.
  • Throughput (tonnes per hour): Average over each week or campaign phase.
  • Feed material: Log any changes in rock type, size or feed distribution.
  • Wear checks: Note measurements at regular intervals, such as 10 to 20% intervals of expected life. Mark location and thickness readings.
  • Liner change-out date and hours: Capture removal date and end hour meter reading.
  • Observations: Record anything unusual, like tramp events, backing compound condition, loose liner bolts or feed surges.

Using the sheet through a liner campaign

During a liner run, keep the sheet updated after each planned inspection or maintenance shift. This way you can spot trends in wear rates, track the effect of feed or CSS changes and plan ahead for spares holding. It is also a useful tool when comparing different liner profiles or materials in your specific conditions.

When planning a shutdown, up-to-date records help decide the best timing for change-outs. This reduces the risk of unexpected failures or lost tonnes. Use the planner sheet to brief all teams on the current liner condition and any actions needed. After removal, review the full record to guide your next campaign and optimise liner selection or maintenance routines.
