Change Window Card
One-page change window card for jaw, cone, and impact kits.
Purpose of the change window card
The Change Window Card is a practical, single-sheet record for tracking liner changes on jaw, cone, and impact crushers. It supports plant supervisors, foremen, and maintenance teams in scheduling and documenting wear part changes, whether you are working on a quarry primary, a mobile contract set-up, or a sand plant. Anyone responsible for equipment reliability and shift handover should be involved in filling out the card. This resource helps keep your records tight, supports stock planning, and makes follow-up inspections easier for the next person on shift.
How to fill in the change window card
Every field is there for a reason. Filling the card accurately means quicker fault-finding and better liner life tracking in the long run. Gather the relevant kit numbers and inspection notes before you start. Complete the following fields in clear writing:
- Crusher ID and location: Match the unit to your plant diagram.
- Liner set installed: Note jaw profile, mantle/concave type, or impact bar alloy.
- Install date and shift: Essential for campaign tracking.
- Old liner removal notes: Record last hours, wear condition, and any breakage.
- Closed side setting and nip angle (jaws) or crushing chamber profile (cones): As checked after install.
- Torque of liner bolts: Note tensioner used and torque value (defer to OEM spec).
- Backing compound or resin batch: For cone and impact kits if used.
- Work order or job card reference: Link to plant maintenance system.
- Initial feed condition: Any issues with feed size, distribution, or tramp material.
- Sign-off by both installing fitter and supervisor.
Using the change window card during a liner campaign
The completed card stays with the plant maintenance log or control room file for the full liner campaign. As the liner wears, use the card to compare actual performance to previous change-outs. It helps identify trends such as uneven wear, loose bolts, or changing feed conditions that could affect uptime or safety. When Eskom power cuts disrupt your routine, these cards help keep records consistent across shifts.
Reviewing past cards allows you to refine choke feeding habits, screen tensioning schedules, and even the choice between wire mesh or polyurethane panels. For safety, always double-check the sign-offs before starting any lifting or lockout work. To request the latest printable PDF version of our Change Window Card, use our contact form.
