Bring photos of your worn parts, the crusher model and serial plate, and a few measurements. We match the profile and talk you through the options.

What to see and do at Tyger Valley appointment showroom

At our Tyger Valley appointment showroom in Cape Town you can view a selection of sample crusher and screen wear parts. We keep jaw plates, cone mantles, bowl liners, blow bars and screen media on hand, along with physical samples showing the different alloy types and profiles we supply. Bring your own measurements or compare directly against our samples. You can also review detailed photo archives of previous wear part installations for local quarries and mines, helping you identify the right profile or alloy for your site.

Our team can assist with profile matching using both the sample parts on display and digital photo reference. This helps you decide which jaw or cone profile best fits your crushing chamber, closed side setting and feed distribution. We also have technical information on hand about work hardening of manganese, blow bar options including martensitic and chrome iron with or without ceramic inserts, and available options for screen media including polyurethane and heavy wire mesh.

  • View and handle sample liners and screen panels
  • Compare profiles and alloys with your parts
  • Get advice on crushing chamber configuration
  • Review local installation photos
  • Discuss campaign planning and stock holding

What to bring to your appointment

To get the best out of your visit, bring clear photos of your worn parts, especially from the chamber and feed areas. If possible, have the crusher model number and serial plate details ready, as well as your current closed side setting and any measurements you have taken off the removed liners or blow bars. This information helps us quickly match the correct OEM profile and advise on liner bolt requirements, safe lifting methods and backing compound needs.

If you are dealing with screen panels, bring samples or photos showing wear and aperture size. Knowing your tensioning method and preferred aperture helps us recommend wire or polyurethane panels that will maximise efficiency and wear life on your plant.

  • Photos of worn liners or blow bars (close up and overall)
  • Crusher or screen model and serial plate info
  • Closed side setting and key measurements
  • Sample of screen panel or aperture size
  • Any site-specific wear issues or challenges

Local context for western Cape plants

Cape quarries and contract crushing plants often deal with hard quartzitic sandstone, hornfels and some dolerite inland, as well as softer Table Mountain Sandstone and limestone closer to the coast. High silica content and variable moisture from the Cape southeaster can affect liner life and screen blinding, so it is vital to select alloys and profiles suited to both the abrasiveness and the moisture levels of your material.

Many Western Cape operations run smaller jaw, cone and VSI plants for roadstone and sand, with a mix of wire mesh and polyurethane media in washing and screening circuits. Operations near the coast also need to consider corrosion and the effects of wind-blown salt on exposed liners and bolts. Inland plants, especially those east towards Worcester or the Karoo edge, face wide temperature swings and increased dust, affecting both wear rates and safe handling during liner change-outs.

We can help you choose the right blow bars, mantles, concaves or screen panels based on your local conditions, ensuring optimum rotor balance, material flow and wear profiling. For any in-depth technical requirements, OEM manuals and plant-specific procedures always take priority, especially where torque values, lockout and liner replacement safety are concerned.
