Our wire deck stock covers a wide range of woven wire cloth panels, kept specifically for finish screens needing sharp, accurate cuts. Typically used as the final stage in aggregate, sand, and mineral screening, these decks deliver the precise separation required in South African quarries, contract crushing set-ups, and recycle yards where product specification is strict.
Wire cloth is especially suited for vibrating screens that demand accurate sizing. Unlike heavier punch or polyurethane panels, wire decks offer minimal blinding and fast cut points, making them a favourite for clean stone, river sand, and chip products. The flexibility in aperture and wire thickness means you can target exact sizing and open area, adapting to the stone or sand type in your region.
Storage at Sunnyrock and on site
At our Sunnyrock yard in Germiston, we keep wire deck panels under cover and off the ground. Each sheet is stacked on wooden bearers to avoid moisture wicking, and sized for bakkie or flatbed collection as well as bulk orders. This minimises kinks and keeps tension wires in shape, so panels arrive straight and stress-free.
For on-site storage, inland (Highveld, Karoo, Free State), keep panels out of rain and off the ground, ideally in a lock-up container or under a lean-to to avoid dew and dust buildup. Near the coast (Durban, Cape Town, Gqeberha), corrosion is a much bigger risk, especially with Eskom power cuts making dehumidifiers unreliable. Always store wire panels in dry, ventilated sheds and use original wrapping until needed. Rotate older stock first to prevent rusting and avoid stacking heavy items on top, which can warp the mesh.
Choosing and ordering your wire decks
For the right fit and cut, tell us your screen brand and model, along with exact deck measurements: length, width, side tension or end tension, aperture size in millimetres, and wire gauge or thickness. Let us know what material you’re screening and whether you need square, long slot, or harp wire profiles. This helps us match the right wire panel to your feed and screen load. If you’ve got a wear profile or current deck with unusual wear, bring a sample or photo so we can advise on hard-wearing or flexible wire options.
