Fleet Handoff Help
Contract fleet kit handoffs between sites.
Common questions on fleet kit handoffs
Transferring crusher or screen fleet kits between sites is a regular part of contract or multi-site operations. Site conditions differ across the Highveld, Karoo, or coastal regions, so wear part life and compatibility must be checked before moving equipment.
Customers often ask if jaw plates, mantles, or screen media can be reused at the next site. The answer depends on current wear levels, feed material differences, and compatibility with the new machine’s configuration, such as closed side setting and chamber profile. Another recurring question is about safe removal and transport of liners, especially when dealing with work-hardened manganese or heavy bowl liners in the field. Always use certified lifting lugs and comply with lockout procedures during changeout.
For cone or jaw crushers, don’t forget to check liner bolts for correct torque and condition, especially if the machine is being moved far by bakkie or lowbed. Blow bars with ceramic inserts or other composite details may have specific handling requirements to avoid cracking.
What to send us to assist with a fleet handoff
To help you plan a smooth fleet handoff, we need clear, detailed information. This lets us check compatibility, advise on safe handling, and recommend which parts should be replaced or kept for the next campaign.
- Serial numbers and model details of all crushers and screens involved
- Photos of current wear parts (top, side and wear surfaces)
- Current closed side setting or screen aperture and tension method
- Any recent maintenance or torque records, especially for liner bolts
- Expected feed type and size at the new site
What happens after you email us
Once you use our contact form with your handoff details, one of our technical reps will review your information and respond. If needed, we may call you for more detail or visit your site, especially for major fleet moves or if Eskom power cuts are affecting your schedule.
We'll check compatibility of your existing wear parts with the new site’s material and advise if any items need replacing. We also confirm safe handling of large wear parts, recommend best practice for rotor or screen media transfer, and advise on campaign stock holding. If backing compound or new liner bolts are needed, we’ll quote and prepare them for collection from the nearest showroom.
