Photo Log Review
Send liner photos for a wear review, not a sales pitch.
Frequently asked photo log review questions
Customers often want to know if they can send in liner photos for a quick technical opinion, without going through a site visit or sales meeting. We do offer an off-site review service, where our team looks at your liner or wear part photos and gives feedback by email, based on what we see in the images.
Typical questions include whether the wear pattern is normal for the tonnes crushed, if there’s evidence of mis-feeding or uneven wear, what chamber profile is currently fitted, or if there are early signs of breakage or fatigue. Others want to know if their jaw plates or mantles can safely run another campaign, or if change-out is urgent.
We are not able to give binding maintenance advice off photos alone, but can point out visible concerns, suggest likely root causes, and recommend actions like checking nip angle or adjusting closed side setting. For safety or torque values, always refer to your OEM manual.
What photos and details to send for a useful review
To help you properly, we need clear photos and some basic info about your machine and wear parts. The more detail you give, the more specific our feedback will be.
- Photos showing the whole wear surface, both sides if possible
- Close-ups of any cracks, breakages, or unusual wear spots
- A clear shot of the chamber profile and feed area
- Part numbers (OEM or ours), machine make and model
- Approximate tonnes or hours run since install, and product size
- Any recent incidents, changes, or issues (eg. tramp metal, Eskom outages, changed feed blend)
What happens after you email your photos
When you email your photo log through our contact form, one of our technical staff from the Germiston head office will review your images. We aim to reply during the next working day, depending on the photos and info supplied.
Our team may ask for more details, such as previous wear history or installation method, if anything is unclear. We’ll advise you on visible wear patterns, potential chamber or feed issues, and next steps. This may include recommending a site visit, a change in campaign planning, or specific checks on liner bolts, tension, or feed distribution.
No sales pitches: this is a technical review, not a marketing contact. Any recommendations are practical and specific to your operation. For anything needing urgent attention or outside visual assessment, we’ll suggest you defer to your OEM representative or plant fitter.
