How to interpret bowl liner specifications
Every bowl liner is defined by its material grade, profile, and compatibility with its paired mantle. The standard Mn18 grade is the main workhorse for South African conditions, combining work hardening with enough ductility to resist cracking under impact. Profile must be matched to your chamber: ‘Standard’ suits most secondary duties, but shorthead or extra-fine profiles are available for tight product requirements.
- Grade: Mn18 is standard, other manganese or alloy grades on request
- Profile: Confirm with your chamber and feed
- Pair: Always matched with the correct mantle type
Measuring your current bowl liner for replacement
Before ordering, check your existing liner for visible part numbers or casting marks, usually stamped or cast near the top rim. If these are missing or illegible, measure the outside diameter at the rim, the height of the liner, and the seat dimensions. Use a steel tape measure for accuracy. Photographs of the liner, seating area, and any wear patterns are extremely useful, especially if there is abnormal scalloping or pitting.
For best results, also supply us with your crusher’s model, serial plate, and, if possible, the last known chamber profile. This helps us avoid delays and ensures the new liner fits first time.
- Measure rim diameter and overall height
- Note any casting or part numbers
- Photograph worn liner and seat
- Supply crusher model and serial plate
