How to interpret the spec sheet for concaves
Each concave set is listed by pairing, grade, segment count and removal safety. Pairing refers to the specific mantle SKU or profile this concave must match, which is crucial for chamber geometry. Grade is the alloy, usually Mn13 or Mn18, and sometimes martensitic with ceramic inserts for extra life. Segment count tells you if it’s a two-piece, three-piece or even multi-piece, which affects both handling and change-out time. The torch note is a reminder for safe burn-off practices during removal, especially important with heavy multi-piece sets.
- Pair only with listed mantle SKU
- Check grade for your material
- Segmented for size and safer lifting
Measuring and confirming your existing part
Before ordering, confirm the profile on your worn concave. Measure the height at the thickest and thinnest points, the inside and outside diameters, and the segment length. Take side-on photos in good light, and capture any part numbers stamped on the back or seat. Compare the worn profile against your crusher’s maintenance manual to check for changes in the crushing chamber. If in doubt, we can match off your sample or dimensions to prevent mistakes.
What to send us for a correct order
Please send clear photos of your existing concave and mantle, plus the crusher model and serial plate details. Include all available dimensions, especially on worn parts. If you’ve had any issues with past wear patterns or breakage, mention them in your email. This info lets us advise on the best grade, segment arrangement and torch removal tips to suit your plant. Use our contact form and our technical team will get back to you.
