Understanding the media and aperture

Each screen media kit is built from polyurethane, woven wire, or rubber. Polyurethane (PU) gives the best life in high-abrasion circuits, while wire mesh delivers sharper cuts for final sizing, and rubber offers noise and impact reduction. The aperture is specified in millimetres and influences product size control. Always check your required cut size and whether your process needs a precise square, slotted or round opening. We include aperture cards with every kit to confirm the actual opening.

Top, middle, and bottom decks each see different load and wear. Use heavier gauge or PU for the top deck that takes impact from crusher discharge, and finer wire for the finish deck where blinding and pegging are risks. Clamp notes detail how the panels seat on your deck rails and how to tension them for maximum life without rucking or slack.

  • PU: long life for abrasives
  • Wire: sharper cuts, easy swap
  • Rubber: noise and impact control

How to check and confirm your screen profile

Before ordering, measure your existing screen panels in place. Record the width, length, aperture size, and check the edge profile (hook, bolt-down, or modular clip). A tape measure and straight edge are your best tools, but digital calipers help for tighter fits. Note the number of supports (bears or rails) and where the tension clamps sit. Take clear photos of both the worn panel and the seating area, and if possible, include your crusher or screen serial plate for reference. This ensures we match the OEM profile exactly and there’s no fitting hassle on site.

What to send us for a fast match

Send us photos showing the panel location, edge details, clamp arrangement, and any unusual wear. Include basic measurements: width, length, and aperture in millimetres, plus the plant or screen model and serial number. If you have a worn-out panel, measure the original dimensions if possible, not just the current size after wear.
