Understanding the specs: type, hardness and pattern

Our wear button packs come as either domed single buttons or flat tiles, with each style suited to different impact patterns. The type affects how easily they can be welded or bolted and how tightly they can be packed in confined spaces. Hardness, listed as a named HRC, indicates resistance to gouging and service life under impact. For apron feeders seeing big stone, the harder the button, the longer the interval between changes. The pattern, shown on a grid map, lays out the precise arrangement for optimal coverage of your wear zone.

If you’re not sure of your current spec, start by checking the OEM manual or look for the part number stamped on your existing buttons. Where that’s missing, we can match off your sample and recommend suitable hardness for your feed material.

Measuring and confirming your wear button profile

Before ordering, measure each button’s diameter, thickness, and mounting arrangement. Take note if your current buttons are domed, flat or have a boss for extra weld. For tiles, measure the full length, width, and hole positions, if pre-drilled. If your buttons have worn unevenly or show deep pitting, photograph these areas and include a tape or ruler in the shot for scale.

Send us clear photos of the worn parts, ideally still in place, along with your crusher or feeder model and the serial plate details. Include your current button or tile dimensions, and if you have a grid map or layout, attach that too. This ensures we match your pattern and supply the right spec. Email everything through our contact form and we’ll sort your order promptly.
