Why plants choose Cone Mantle Liner
Uneven feed kills mantles early. We publish distribution cues with the liner so the plant does not treat Mn as magic.
- Profile options for fine and coarse
- Feed distribution cues on the pack
- Nut and torching notes

Where cone mantle liners work hardest
Cone mantle liners are crucial in secondary and tertiary crushers, tackling stone after it has been through the primary jaw. Quarries and contract crushers use these liners in circuits producing roadstone, sand, and basecourse from granite, dolerite, and quartzite. You will find them in plants around Brits, Rustenburg, and all the way up to the Kalahari. The hardest wearing happens when feed is uneven or oversized, or if the chamber is run outside design choke. In these conditions, mantles see accelerated wear, particularly on the high side where feed hits hardest. Recirculating and recycle yards, handling concrete with tramp steel or sand plants with wet slimes, demand tough mantles and attention to feed shape.
- Used in secondary and tertiary cone circuits
- Handles quartzite, granite, dolerite, and rebar-contaminated feed
- Suffers from uneven or segregated feed
What you get in a Crusher Consumables mantle order
Order a cone mantle liner from us and you get a matched set, ready to bolt up with the concave. Every mantle is supplied in high manganese steel, typically Mn18, with options for heavier or standard profiles. Each piece is matched to your crusher model and profile: fine for sand and dust, coarse for base and ballast. We include feed distribution cues, simple graphics and site notes in every pack, so your team has a starting point to check feed spread. Masses change by model, from compact 180 to 420 kg up to 1.5 tonnes for the big machines. Most common profiles are held in our Germiston yard for quick collection or bakkie dispatch. Unusual profiles or special alloys can be cast to order with a clear forecast.
- Mn18 steel, standard or heavy
- Match pairs to concave
- Feed cues included
- Stock or cast window
Choosing for South African conditions
Our country throws every challenge at cone mantles: Highveld quartzite and granite chew through standard Mn, while dolerite with iron pyrites from the Karoo works hardens the liner but can crack it if tramp gets in. Coastal plants face salt corrosion, so we offer extra passivation and can recommend heavier profiles for Durban humidity or Cape southeaster-drifted fines. Recycle yards in Joburg and Durban must think about steel rebar, where a mantle must be run with a reliable tramp release and the right profile to clear blockages. Dust is also a killer: dry plants in the North West and Free State should check chamber seals and monitor dust build-up under the spider, which can accelerate wear and throw off seating.
- Quartzite and granite: harder Mn or heavy profile
- Coastal salt: passivation available
- Recycle: watch rebar and tramp design
- Dust: maintain chamber seal and profile
